The Connection Between Body and Mind
A wisdom talk with internationally renowned Chamtrul Rinpoche about the interdependent relationship between our physical bodies and our mental and emotional lives.
The evening will begin with 10-15 minutes of chanting with Rinpoche. All may join in using the provided texts, or drop into the now and focus on being present as you quietly sit, immersed by the beautiful sounds of chanting and intention, (Chamtrul Rinpoche has a lovely voice.)
The main portion of the event will be a teaching on the relationship between body, mind, and energy. These are three aspects of who we are as humans. All Eastern spiritual traditions discuss this and yet the relationship between them remains a mystery to many of us who explore these traditions.
Finally, we will end the event with a Q&A, and an intention of loving-kindness generated from the evening’s interactions.
What to expect:
Topics covered will include our relationships with our bodies, and exploring the concept and relationships we have with our minds. We will also discuss and delve into the topic of “energy” as it relates to our interpersonal experiences and life journey.
Is our “mind” just brain activity or something entirely different?
What is energy, (Prana, chi, etc.)?
What is the relationship between body, mind, and energy, and how can understanding it benefit us?
All are encouraged to reflect on their own experiences, take notes, and ask some questions toward the end.
Please bring:
Yoga mat / blanket / bolster to sit comfortably
A journal and writing utensil
A water bottle - keep your body hydrated!
An open heart and mind
