This month, we are thrilled to showcase the incredible work of BretAshley, a talented artist known for her handwoven wearable art, crafted with natural fibers and a deep reverence for slow craft.
BretAshley’s creations, woven right here in Missoula, are designed for everyday life and ceremony alike. Each piece is a unique collaboration between the artist and the wearer, resulting in one-of-a-kind, made-to-order garments. Her work emphasizes the importance of connecting with the maker and understanding the process and intention behind each creation, fostering a more meaningful relationship with what we wear.

Meet BretAshley
BretAshley of Body of Earth is a weaver of wearable art, a visual storyteller through painted mediums, and a postpartum doula. In relationship to creativity as integration, feeding the flames of her creative fire to access God.
Weaving is the slow craft movement that resists fast fashion and honors an ancient way of being. Invoking beauty, intention and creativity. To a culture worth keeping alive and abundant.
BretAshley was initiated in the ways of the loom in the winter of 2022, it has become a way of life since. It’s a mysterious whisper, an unseen thread connecting her to the weavers before her.
As a weaver of wearable art, it’s my intention to create clothing that uplifts peoples on their journey to feel confident, beautiful and inspired to create.
